About The University of Kentucky Appalachian Center

The Appalachian Center serves the region from where many of its students, alumni, staff and faculty are native, by utilizing the resources of UK to:

• Lead, train and mentor regional volunteers on developing their communities economically.
• Encourage the development of entrepreneurial skills among Appalachian students.
• Provide useful social and economic data for those wishing to tackle regional specific dilemmas.
• Promote an appreciation for Appalachia campus-wide and throughout the public.
