Spring Fling, 2010

Fine Consigns will be sponsoring a full-fledge Garden Swap, Garden Shoppe and Plant-A-Seed-Of-Change charity event during Spring Fling, downtown Paintsville, on May 15, 2010!

Do you have extra plantings from yearly divisions of your perennials, have four extra seedlings from that 6 pack of peppers when you need only two, a few extra annuals from a flat, seeds from full packets when you only needed a few, garden tools or decorations that you are tired of or no longer have room for, a few too many house-plants, or new sprouts from your grandmother’s gorgeous African Violets? Or, perhaps you are looking for a particular variety of tomato, a certain color peony, a few extra annuals to fill a bare spot? Need a good broken in hoe, a hand-trowel, a new-to-you piece of garden décor or a few pots for the front porch? Then a garden swap is the place for you! Fine Consigns will be sponsoring a swap where you can trade your unneeded garden goodies for new-to-you treasures.

Here’s how the Garden Swap works:
Bring your extra plants, seeds, gardening tools, décor, books, anything garden-themed and receive a ticket for each item you bring in. Trade one ticket for one item. The more items you bring, the more tickets you’ll receive and trade. It’s that simple! We’ll start accepting items for the SWAP at 1:00 on May 15th. The Swap will take place at 5:00, so all items must be registered no later than 4:45.

Bring your plants in pots, plastic bags, anything that will hold soil and keep the plant safe until it can be transplanted to it’s new home. You may stop by Fine Consigns for an informational packet, a template to make your own seed packets and plant markers.

The Garden Shoppe:
If you don’t want to take anything home, but have items you want to sale, bring them to Fine Consigns any day from now to May 15th (BEFORE 1:00 on the 15th, please) and we’ll sell them for you. Any garden themed item (plants, tools, books, seeds, décor, etc.) you have on hand and no longer have a need for. Another great way to make and save money!!

Plant-A-Seed-Of-Change:
Here’s a chance for the little ones to have fun and learn a love for gardening. We’ll be offering the opportunity to “Plant-A-Seed-Of-Change” for the charity you choose. We’ll have several seeds and charities to choose from and plantings will start at 50¢ .
